I thought that the userlist wasn't something a visitor could access without register. What do the other think? public or private userlist?

As far as I understood Joomla!, it should be possible to have the link in the main menu but to set it to "registered", then it is only shown to logged in users. Did you try that? I found it much better in the toplist! Or does that collide with the space for the information on new private messages?
